Why we’re throwing in our support
Over 20,000 Australians will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year alone. That’s 55 Australians being diagnosed every. single. day.
That could be your sister, mum, grandmother, friend, cousin – or even you!
Breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia, and results in 9 people losing their lives to the disease every day. That’s over 3,000 Australians losing their life to breast cancer each year!
- 1 in 7 women are diagnosed in their lifetime; and
- 1 in 700 men are diagnosed in their lifetime.
- Diagnosis of the disease has increased by 36% over the last 10 years.
Breast cancer has touched countless lives. Nearly every Australian knows someone who has gone through, or is currently fighting, breast cancer. But for some – it hits closer to home.
Watch Chris’ story below to find out why he’s throwing TRED’s support behind National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Breast cancer foundation
The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is the leading source of funding for breast cancer research in Australia. What’s more is that every single cent raised comes directly from the Australian public.
Since the inception of the NBCF in 1994, the foundation has invested $190 million into 575 world-class research projects, each one committed to improving the longevity and quality of life for breast cancer patients.
The five-year survival rate has increased from 76% to 91%, since the foundation started funding research projects, showing the genuine impact your donations will have.
Every dollar the TRED community raises will be donated straight to the National Breast Cancer Foundation - meaning you can be sure that not only will your Pink TREDs get you out of any recovery situation, but they will also go towards supporting another Aussie in their recovery journey.
How you can get involved
You can show your support for a cause that makes a genuine improvement in the lives of Aussies in need by purchasing a set of Pink TRED GTs from Anaconda, Mini Pink TREDs online, or by donating to the NBCF directly.
Together, we can make a real difference (and have a bit of an adventure while doing it).
